In times of crisis, Europe is best experienced through dialogue.

EYFON is actively continuing its program for young Europeans – now increasingly digital due to current events. The “eEuropaWoche” from May 4th to 9th is a bundle of digital and participatory offers, activities and workshops of Styrian institutions to learn more about Europe. On Europe Day on May 9th, new paths will be explored and the crisis will be used as an opportunity to develop new ideas for a united Europe based on solidarity.

EYFON is designing its own format with interviews and trailers: “EYFON for Austria!” It will be officially presented as part of the eEuropawoche. This new format is the reaction of the EYFON team under President Christoph Leitl to the imposed travel restrictions that still are in force. In order to continuously strengthen awareness around Europe, especially among young people in joint seminars, the Europaburg Castle Forchtenstein in Neumarkt will be open to young Austrians starting again July 2020.

European participation will be guaranteed on a digital level – through live connections to Brussels, video chats and conferences with European experts, media representatives and young people.

“Dealing with the coronavirus requires a new innovative spirit – from all companies and also from organizations such as EYFON. Hence we are showing a Styrian-European way out of the crisis”, says managing director Christian Buchmann.

More information will follow in the next newsletters.
